Olds Superstar trombones
I saw an Olds Superstar V25(?) on consignment and have never heard of these horns before. If anyone has background or stories about the superstar series I'd love to hear them.

Re: Olds Superstar trombones
JohnL's site (www.itsabear.com) has lots of information on Olds trombones. The Superstar was a "step up" horn, between the Ambassador and the various pro lines (in this case the Recording with F). Not a bad instrument, but there are better. One guy in my Community Band played one and sounded OK on it.

Re: Olds Superstar trombones
Olds sold two different SuperStar trombone models.
The V-20 was a step-up model that was a close cousin to the A-20 Ambassador and R-20 Recording; .495"-.510" dual bore with flat-wrap f-attachment (.515" bore), 8.5" bell.
The V-25 was a rebadged Reynolds TO-02 "Philharmonic" bass trombone; .565" bore, 10" bell, single-valve (double loop, double pull with a stop rod on one pull, .585" bore).
Standard finish on both models was silver plate.
