Baltimore Brass Closing its Doors

Post by hyperbolica »

According to a facebook post, Baltimore Brass is closing shop. I have often stopped in on my way to somewhere else to try/buy horns or to try to sell one. They were always nice guys, and I've often referred to their site to look for used stuff. Very sorry to see them go. They aren't exactly local for me, but they are on my way to other places.

Very sorry to hear that, but it's always surprising that any specialty shop like that can actually be profitable.

This is a shame. Since Baltimore Brass was owned by David Fedderly (retired Baltimore Symphony tubist), the store was unique in that it favored the low brass instruments. I always liked to stop by and see what trombones and euphoniums they had in their used/consignment inventory.
