I’m Getting Sentimental Over You

Post by johntarr »

Hello out there,

Does anyone know where I could find an arrangement of this piece in the original key (D) for trombone and piano? Editions Marc Reift has one but it’s in Db and rewriting the piano part would be a lot of work.

Thanks in advance for any clues,

John

It looks like pdfbandcharts.com has 3 versions for big band in D
#32136 arranged by J. Farley
#30050 arranged by J. Farley
#9867 arranged by Unknown

A lot depends on who's playing piano - a classical player who needs it written out, or somebody who can read chords and knows what to do.

For a classical pianist, who needs it written out.

I play in a band that has a hand-written copy in the original key (D) which matches up fairly well with the original recording - but no attribution, alas. Makes it kind of hard to pin down.

Put it in MuseScore and raise it a half step?

Their scanning facility works well on very clean sheet music...

I have Musescore and have tried this but the parts are all messed up. There are added beats and weird symbols included. I think it would be easier just to type in the notes than to fix all the mistakes.

Thanks for the idea,

Yes, manual entry is my first choice too.

It's fast, it's easy, it's accurate... you would have already been done with this long ago... but there's always a big freak-out on this forum when I suggest it. :idk:
