Hammond organ

I don’t know why, but all my life I have loved hearing jazz played on Hammond Organ, probably the Hammond B3. Way back in my dinosaur days it was probably Jimmy Smith, but there have been countless players since then. I especially love hearing the Hammond organ played with guitar players. Again I don’t know why.

I love the tremolo, the eery sound, the almost breathless solos. Whenever it comes up on my Jazz station I stop and listen, almost transfixed. Anybody else have this fascination?
