Yamaha Slide Cream
Anyone use the Yamaha Slide Cream that comes with their horns? The stuff in the purple tube with the white cap. It almost seems like a gel version of Yamasnot.

Should it be translucent or white? Not sure if the tube I have has separated into it's components.

Re: Yamaha Slide Cream
It should be white, but not as thick as other slide cream brands like SuperSlick. I believe they use the traditional slide cream recipe and add a little bit of silicone lubricant (the same stuff that SuperSlick puts in the separate tiny "additive" bottles). It works well, but I find that I need to swab and change it frequently. Also, it is more vulnerable to separate (the translucent versus white that you referred to) than the traditional slide creams, especially if it experiences large temperature changes. I have a narrow wooden dowel that I use to "mix" the ingredients together in the tube before using.

Re: Yamaha Slide Cream
I don’t quite like it. I switched to Yamaha Slide Lubricant (the “snot”) as soon as I knew the latter exists. I heard the cream is better on old, worn out slide though.
The cream shoulld be white and not translucent.

I mixed it up and it's white.
