The United States opened its borders yesterday to Canada (and Mexico).
Welcome back to our northern and southern TromboneChat neighbors. It's been a long time!

Re: Welcome back Canadians
Not so fast amigos.
The US opened the Canada-US land border yesterday. (I don’t know anything about the US-Mexico border.) For the first time in 20 months fully-vaccinated Canadians can drive into the US.
But…
For us Canadians, our gov’t requires a negative COVID test performed within 72 hours of our attempted return before they’ll let us back across the border. Apparently one needs the expensive COVID-19 negative molecular test too.
This will change, and, I expect, soon. I don’t think this is the new normal.

Re: Welcome back Canadians
Gonna take a while more before we Canadian freelancers start coming to the US again for work, though. It was already a struggle before with the need for a costly work visa, and now...

Rod,
Enjoy life in the cryosphere. For now.
But in a few decades, you will be enjoying our southern California climate, while we bemoan the loss of all our beaches due to the rising sea level. Perhaps you all should start planting date and citrus trees soon, so you can feed the world!

Don't all rush in at once.
