Gig Bag Recommendation
Looking for a reasonably priced gig bag for a Yamaha Trobone - F Attachment, model YSL-881 Xeno - bell is almost 9" and the two cases we have tried the case is too small for the bell. For a college student.

Re: Gig Bag Recommendation
Check with Forum member Greenbean (Tom Rice) who is making gig bags in the Cronkhite style.
If you can find a genuine Reunion Blues or Cronkhite bag for "large tenor" the Xeno should fit fine. Just don't buy one sized for a small tenor.
Note that I have a Yamaha 682 with a similar sized bell and I have used a Reunion Blues (pre-Chinese), an Altieri, and a Tuxedo bag with it. Again, all "Large Tenor" size.
Yamaha used to make a gig bag for these horns, but they had terrible protection -- no padding in the bell section. I gave up using mine when I slipped on ice and fell -- with disastrous consequences for my trombone's bell.

Re: Gig Bag Recommendation
A lot of bags and cases can become personal fashion statements and get pretty expensive. Leather is probably impractical for students. Nylon is more durable and less fussy.
Fusion Urban bags are pretty reasonable, with good bell protection. - https://www.fusion-bags.com/collections/all/trombone
Altieri are cheap, but they're also not available right now.
Gard make some nice options - https://www.gardbags.com/eng/brasswind/trombone
Protec makes a basic one - https://www.protecstyle.com/EXPLORER-TE ... SIC-POCKET
Soundwear make some very protective stuff, functional and nice looking - https://www.soundwear.com/en/bags-cases ... strombone/

Re: Gig Bag Recommendation
The Cronkite and Reunion Blues are good options. The older Reunion Blues are valued for their craftsmanship (newer ones are mass-produced overseas, and are fine, but maybe won't last as long?). Cronkite was originally associated with RB, and then started out on his own. He retired recently, and his designs (and the name) have been bought by Torpedo Bags and these new bags look to be good products. Superfine is another company with some ties to the original RB line of bags, and are producing a nice gig bag.
Not exactly gig bags, but Marcus Bona cases are fairly light, and a bit more protective than the others (fibreglass shell). There are some used examples of some of these options on the classifieds here - that might be an option for saving a bit of cash and getting something fairly protective that fits the horn, but maybe has a few scuffs on the outside.

Re: Gig Bag Recommendation
I have a used black cordura Reunion blues - G series bag that will fit a 9" bell (it fits my Bach 42 with room to spare). I would sell for $150+shipping. PM or Email if you are interested and want photos.
