Jay Krush, Concerto for Bass Trombone

Hi there!

I'm moving this over here from the Performance sub-forum, it seems like a better fit...

I just finished doing a split-screen video performance of Jay Krush's Concerto for bass trombone for my YouTube channel, if anyone is interested in checking it out. My good friend Nick Susi is playing piano, and knocking it out of the park.

I enjoyed your performance!

I listened to it all the way through, which I rarely do.

There were several times I thought, damn, that's a long note to try to hold.

I felt like the composer had over-reached on the length of the movements but maybe that works better in the fully orchestrated incarnation.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. I agree, I think the piano reduction gets a little repetitive. There's a lot of stuff in particular in the last movement where the orchestration features dueling passages between the soloist and the section trombones, and it's hard to replicate the energy of that on piano.
