Some of my favorite recently are:
Aries Trombone Quartet: Mr. Alessi, Wilson, Bousfield and Markey all sound fantastic on their new album and Marshall Gilkes' piece Transonance is my favorite on here. Of course, all 4 of these gentlemen are fantastic trombonists.
Bass Trombone: James Markey and Sebastian Cifuentes. Mr. Markey's sound throughout the entire range is something that just fascinates me still and Mr. Cifuentes' ease in playing and singing quality have been something I keep coming back to listen to.
I haven't been listening to a whole bunch of trombone music lately but these are the ones I keep coming back to so far this year.

My list is loooonnnnngggg including all of the above plus jazzers Bill Watrous, Urbie Green, Carl Fontana, Frank Rosolino, Dave Steinmeyer, James Morrison (multi-instrumentalist), Harry Watters, Bob McChesney, Jiggs Whigham and Lloyd Ulyate (aka Elliott - check him out). I've undoubtedly forgotten many others who also dazzle us with their artistry.
