Classified ads: a request from users

To all who post in the classified ad section, I would like to ask that when an item is sold (or you no longer are looking for a particular item), please modify the heading/title of the ad to request that the ad be removed.

While weeding through and deleting past date ads, etc. I see many ads that say "sold" in the last post. That is fine, but we moderators don't see that unless we open the ad.

This is in the interest of keeping the ad section uncluttered! I just deleted 4 or 5 pages of ads over the past week.

One other thing. The classified ad "rules" state that ads may run for 90 days. After that time they are subject to removal. I got a pm from a seller asking me why I deleted their ad. It was over 3 months old. It is nothing personal!

Actually, it's 60 days. After 60 days you are free to repost the item -- no extra charge.
