Oily bubble leak
Hi guys,
At the beginning the year I had my horn‘S f-attachment converted into an Instrument Innovations rotor system. So the Brass technician had to take the old f-attachment out and resolder new parts.
Tonight while lubricating the rotor I noticed a bubble at one of the joints where the new soldering was done. I was pressing down the F-tuning slide without activating the trigger.
Is the bubble normal? Should I be concerned?

Might be leaking at that joint. For future reference, it's a good idea to always activate the valve when moving the F slide.

Yes, I agree about activating the trigger. I see that now. Do you think I need have that looked at, or should I just let *slide*?

I might have it checked out. If you can see it, it might be a serious enough leak to effect how the horn plays.

A bubble at a solder joint indicates a leak.

There really isn't enough pressure build up when you pull the slide to cause problems.

Duct tape. Fixed!

Did you put Bondo underneath? Or Superglue?

JBWeld stopped the leak at the top of my daughter's Volvo radiator and it held several years, was still going strong when we eventually junked the car. (blown head gasket on a 1991 with some other problems, it was time to move on).
If it can stop the pressure and heat of a Volvo, pretty sure it will hold against breath pressure.
Of course no tech will ever want to work on your horn again! That stuff is a pain to get off. If you even can.
