Would this be good to practice on?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/264833551785 So i’ve always been scared to do dent work on my slides that i actually use. I have done maybe a dozen rentals that need minor repairs but i’m still scared to try it on one of my good slides. I would think this should be good enough to practice with but then what would i do with like 20 slides.

It isn't a BIN. So I always figure if I buy something in an open auction that had a lot of incremental bids by buyers with a decent amount of transactions, that indicates good interest in the item and I ought to be able to later resell it successfully, given I don't damage it while owning it.
However, if I was the only bidder, then that tells me others had no interest.
But it's always a gamble.

The $70 shipping is more than they're worth.

Lots of scrap to practice on. Probably none will ever be playable, though. So you'll end up with a large after-practice trash bin.

There are much better things on Ebay to bid on as repair experiments. That is a quinntheeskimo sales item. Sometimes quinntheeskimo has old horns labeled as "garage sale" items that are complete horns (old Conns and Kings). Those complete horns can be repaired and turned into useful instruments. A complete instrument would be something more rewarding to work on.

Lol. I bought that. I got the lot for $.99. I have a relative who lives up in Washington that picked it up for me so I didn’t have to pay the shipping. I’ll let you know what’s in it when I get it.
