Let's see.. "hacks"... BAC horn... Expectations very low.
... But, he did give very good advice. Kind of dumbed down.
Maybe the problem is that people today have a different use for the word hack. When I think of the word hack I think of an amateur really ugly performer just bad all the way around. The guy did say there is no shortcut at one point. To his credit.

Hack in this sense is more like "shortcut" or "relatively unknown method." Still a dumb term as applied to pedagogy, but not "bad player."
