Anyone here use these?

It seems they're all the rage among Detroit area trumpet players - at any big band gig you're sure to find at least one person who has it on the stand. I didn't really like it myself (kinda sticky & thick, can't imagine applying these during gigs ) but I was wondering if there were any following among trombone players outside of Michigan.

Re: Robinson's Remedies
I bought a couple of tubes. It doesn't really do much for me - sticky and thick - yes, my experience as well. It does make my lips feel a little tingly but I can't imagine using it while I'm trying to play or even inbetween sessions. Perhaps after a big practice session to make things feel better the next day, but the few times I have tried it as such it didn't really seem to have a discernible benefit for me. Everybody's different - might be really helpful for someone else though.

Glad I'm not alone! It's not for me, but there must be something to it as many SE Michiganders seem to be choosing this over the less expensive (but still not cheap) Chopsaver. On a tangent...as windplayers do we get to write off lip balms on our tax returns???
